Telviva’s expanded UK offering is already exciting the market
To ensure that we continue to stay at the leading edge of a growing unified communications as a service (UCaaS) industry, we have extended our services in the UK, offering attractive margins to partners who can label the offering as their own brand. The move was designed to answer the call from partners who are looking for a future-proofing decision by dealing with an actual operator and not just someone selling software. In addition to this, our extended offering also benefits existing South Africa-based customers with UK requirements.
Our successful presence at Channel Live in the UK made it abundantly clear that not only is Telviva delivering world-class UCaaS in the form of Telviva One, but there is also robust demand from channel partners for the types of solutions we already offer to sub-Saharan businesses, as well as our AWS-enabled customer in North America.
UCaaS drivers
There are a number of factors driving UCaaS uptake, we will focus on the main ones.
Adoption of cloud-based services.
Businesses are moving from on-premise to the cloud for various reasons, but one of the most prominent is the increasingly important requirement of dealing with multiple channels of communication. The truth is that in most businesses around the world, these are still disparate and manual. Companies need to capture incoming communication from any channel and then push it into underlying systems. Only once they have done that can they start thinking about automation.
While the UK is further along the road of cloud adoption than SA, it is still only ahead by about 10 percentage points, so there is a long way to go, signalling a continued growth in UCaaS investment.
A desire to move from a reactive to a proactive service.
When you integrate a a service with your CRM and bring an interaction in from the web, for example, that could trigger an event which might require a chat back, a callback or an email back. Businesses realise going from reactive to proactive lies in how those triggers are built into their systems.
The ability to scale
Remote working is certainly less of a driver than before, but the ability to scale a solution independently of the workplace is still very much prompting businesses to consider UCaaS.
A closer look at Telviva’s expanded UK offering
First, let’s look at where we come from: We have retail, white label operations and a partner model in South Africa that runs very well, more than 1 000 extensions in the US and in our focus on Telco enablement, we have about 1 300 lines activated with Vodacom Lesotho in less than a year.
Regarding the UK, we have expanded our offering to distinct three markets, which are:
- South African business process outsourcing (BPO) businesses,
- SA-based companies that have a UK head office or UK branch offices, and
- Mid-sized UK-based channel partners
Where our customers have a registered entity in SA and the UK, and require services in both jurisdictions, we can provide a service to a company’s users in South Africa and in the UK. Each employee has two cloud PBXs – one in South Africa and one in the UK, which enables regulatory compliance alongside seamless communication.
The market’s response
In a nod of confidence for a South African technology business, channel partners in the UK have responded overwhelmingly positively to Telviva and its offerings, from UCaaS through to our contact centre as a service (CCaaS).
The first response is that the competitive product offering offers great margins to partners, and that they can label the offering with their own brand. Partners see it as a future-proofing decision because they are dealing with an actual operator and not just someone selling software.
The fact that it is a complete business communication solution is also attractive to partners, as is the scalability of the service from within the AWS environment. A lot like our experience with existing customers, we have certainly picked up that useability matters to the market, as does full training and onboarding. Partners also like that they can start small fairly easily, and then grow the service as needed.
